SAFARI HIGHLIGHT

This 2-day safari to Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks is the perfect getaway for travelers with limited time who want a taste of Tanzania’s incredible wildlife. Starting and ending in Arusha, this short but thrilling adventure takes you through two of the Northern Circuit’s most spectacular parks.

Your journey begins in Tarangire National Park, renowned for its vast elephant herds, towering baobabs, and diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and impalas. You’ll then continue to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its unique tree-climbing lions and an astonishing variety of animals. On your game drives, keep your camera ready for sightings of zebras, giraffes, elephants, warthogs, hippos, waterbucks, gazelles, and an array of vibrant bird species that call this park home. This short safari delivers big adventures and unforgettable wildlife encounters in just two days.

FULL SAFARI ITINERARY

We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience. From exploring historic landmarks to tasting delicious local cuisine, each day is packed with adventure and excitement. Join us as we take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating destinations in the world.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Tarangire & Game drive

Tarangire and Lake Manyara Safari, your driver-guide will pick you up from hotel in Arusha or airport, brief you about the safari and start the journey to Tarangire national park which located in the northern part of Tanzania. The journey takes about 2 hours drive and on the way you will have spectacular views of the coffee plantations, the Maasai villages, traditional homesteads, Mount Meru which is the second highest mountain in Tanzania after Mount Kilimanjaro among others. Upon arrival in the park you will continue to check into the lodge and have early lunch.

Game drive, after lunch you will meet up with your driver guide to go for an afternoon game drive in the park where you will have great views of the beautiful landscape, large herds of elephants buffaloes, zebras, gazelle, wildebeest, giraffes, waterbucks, elands, impala, bushbucks and if you are lucky you can spot predators such as lions, leopards, hyenas among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Manyara national park

On the last day of the 2 days safari to Tarangire and Lake Manyara national parks you will have an early breakfast, carry packed lunch, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Lake Manyara national park.

Upon arrival in the park you will go for a morning game drive where you will explore different areas such as the grassy floodplains, acacia woodlands and Lake Manyara. During the morning game drive most animals will be active feeding on grass with due therefore you will be able to view large herds of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, waterbucks, warthogs and if you are lucky you can also view predators like leopards and the tree climbing lions lying in the acacia tree branches, view different bird species.

Do you arrange airport Transfer?

Yes of course, We arrange airport transfers for our clients at an extra cost of $50 per vehicle. Normally, the drafted itineraries have excluded the transfers before and after safari. We however advise you to give prior information to our travel specialists before boarding your flight to Tanzania.

Do you arrange accommodation after safari?

Yes of course, We arrange for accommodation when requested by our clients at an extra cost depending with the accommodation level they will prefer to stay in. Normally, the drafted itineraries have excluded the accommodations after safari. For any accommodation bookings, remember to give us prior information of the comfort level you would prefer and we shall advice which hotels will suit you best before we get all confirmations on program.

When is the best time to go on the Tanzania safari?

Tanzania Safari holidays are good all-year-round. Because of such close proximity to the equator, Tanzania undergoes two distinct dry and wet seasons. But the best-best time depends on the type of Tanzania safari activity you choose. However, the dry season of June to October is considered to be the best time to go on the Tanzania safari.

When is the best time to see the great wildebeest migration in Tanzania?

During the period of December to March, the Serengeti Migration congregates in large herds around Lake Ndutu in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area of Tanzania Safari. So, the wildebeest migration in the Serengeti is usually during June and July and January to February is the perfect time to see the wildebeest calving.

What does a Tanzania Safari cost?

Ideally, there is no fixed price range for Tanzania safari. There are several factors such as time, numbers of days, and accommodations types that influence the Tanzania safari cost. Dream trip to the roof of Africa Climbing Kilimanjaro was a dream come true and George and his team made our journey to the roof of Africa so enjoyable. The team of guides looked after our group so well. They were all really knowledgeable and made us feel safe and empowered to complete the trek. They regularly checked our oxygen levels, ensured were were drinking enough water and paced us well to acclimatise to the altitude.On summit day George was determined to get me to the top after I fell behind the other two members of my group. He carried my pack, sang to me, comforted me when I cried, and was so patient even when I was walking slower than I thought was humanly possible. I eventually made it to the summit thanks in no small part to him.George always had the safety and comfort of our group in mind. For example, on summit day he made the decision for us to descend to a lower camp than planned for our final night due to the time spent at altitude that day (as I was slow).The whole team of porters were so friendly and professional and felt like family by the end of the trip.I dream of climbing Mount Meru next and will definitely do it with HWS Adventures when I do.

Kilimanjaro Machame Route and Safari This summer, my father and I traveled with HWS Adventures. We climbed Kilimanjaro together and followed it with an incredible safari an experience we still think back to all the time.We chose the Machame route, which turned out to be perfect: stunning scenery, enjoyable hiking, and not overwhelmingly difficult. Our guides were exactly what you’d hope for funny, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. They checked on us every day, made sure we were feeling well, adjusted our pace, and planned breaks so we wouldn’t overexert ourselves. Something we valued greatly about this company is that the porters are paid fairly and their wellbeing is clearly taken seriously.The safari was just as memorable. We spent three days exploring the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park, seeing incredible wildlife up close. Excellent adventure to to roof of Africa My kids and I had the pleasure of having George and his team for our expedition to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro via the 7 day Lemosho trail. George and the team were excellent, professional, hard working and saw to our every need while on the mountain. They set up our camp every day, carried our camp bags, cooked all of our meals and even accommodated our food restrictions. He even offered to carry my day pack for me when he saw that I was struggling a bit near the summit. We all successfully summited with their help, encouragement and songs. I can't wait to go back and do the safari next time with George!
